D. A. Plankers is the daughter of Dewey Plankers. One of six children, she and her family grew up in various locations while their father served in the U.S. Army. She has a masters from San Jose State University, and is retired from a long teaching career. In her spare time she walks, plays cards and table games, travels and reads.
